THE ARTS SOCIETY HIGHLAND

The Arts Society Highland

Highland  Decorative and Fine Arts  Society was founded in 1990.   It was an affiliate Society of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies, founded in 1968 by Patricia Fay.   In May 2017 the name changed to The Arts Society and our Society is now called The Arts Society Highland.   We are a leading Arts charity with over 360 Societies in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.     Our aim is to open up the world of the Arts to everyone.    It is not just a great way to learn, it is also a way of making new and lasting friendships.

This year The Arts Society celebrates a milestone in the Organisation`s history;   its Golden Anniversary.   It will mark its 50th Anniversary with a series of events that embrace one overiding theme, enriching lives through the arts.

Also this year our National Chairman, June Robinson, stepped down at the AGM after three years in post.   Our new National Chairman is Julie Goldsmith.   Julie was formerly Chairman of Oundle Society and was elected an Arts Society Trustee in May 2017.    She has already brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Board and we wish her well in her new post.

At The Arts Society Highland we have an inspiring programme of lectures given by some of the country`s top experts, days of special interest and visits to historic buildings in the area and beyond.    Members can also enjoy study days and tours organised by The Arts Society Scotland & N.I.   Visitors and newcomers to our area are always most welcome
