The workshops were super successful – due to the scale of the insects created, everyone needed more time to finish so the festival funded an additional session with Amy.
Thank you so much again to the Art Society for your support – it helps to give real value to our schools outreach programme, and engage teenagers who would not otherwise be involved. We had some great feedback from the S2 pupils who worked with Amy - “ I enjoyed everything about the experience. I learnt how to make giant wooden bugs” “ I enjoyed working with things I’d never worked with before. I learnt that wood can be turned into beautiful things.’ “I enjoyed the making of sculpture even though it annoyed me. I learnt that insects aren’t all perfect and about tissue paper layering.” “ I enjoyed working with a proper artist” Most of them wanted more time.
